The quality of our rugs is undeniable! Our 60 knots per square inch rugs are plush and thick. The 100 knot/in2 are fine and supple. We use only 100% Tibetan wool from sheep raised high in the Himalayan Mountains. The locals say “God gave these creatures the best insulation in the world, to survive in one of the harshest climates in the world!” The altitude and the extreme temperatures make the wool rich in lanolin, making it a soft yet robust fiber. Simply the finest in the world!
Each Rug is individually hand knotted and may have slight variations. These minor variations add to the charm and uniqueness of these handcrafted rugs. Actual colors may differ slightly from the website.
Nordic Home Interiors rugs are made in our weaving compound in Katmandu, Nepal, supervised by managers and weavers whom we know personally. We have no middleman. This way, we can verify the weaving and pass the value on to our customers. Our rugs are priced by the square foot (as is typical for fine Oriental carpets) depending on the number of knots per square inch. 60 knots-100 knots or100 w/silk.
We have scores of rug designs on display in our retail showroom in Minneapolis. They have been developed by artists in Norway, The Twin Cities, New York City, Connecticut, and Nepal.
