The Rana pattern or design was created in the 1800’s and originates from the northern part of Norway. Scandinavian textiles were often named after the “first place” where they were woven, rather than by the first person to weave or create them. There is an area in Northern Norway that is referred to as Rana- hence the design’s name. It is woven using the Skilbragd weaving technique.

Please Note:
Note on the care of your weaving: Contents are linen and wool, so your textile should be dry-cleaned. When your textile is not in use and you are storing it, please do not fold it. This is very hard on the fibers. It is best to roll it around a tube (old paper towel or wrapping paper tube is perfect).
