Ottar Kåsa

Ottar Kåsa Ottar is from a village in Telemark called Arabygdi just north of Vinje. He is a class A fiddler, having placed 3rd and 4th at Landskappleik the past two years and plays regularly at concerts and various dance events. In addition to this, Ottar is a fiddlemaker and has a workshop in Bø where he builds and repairs Hardanger Fiddles.

(Ottar is a replacement for Christian Borlaug who unfortunately had to cancel his trip. We hope to have Christian with us at a future event)

Arnhild Brennesvik

Arnhild Brennesvik Arnhild is a seasoned dancer and instructor, having been brought up in the tradition and involved with teaching Telemark dances to young and old since she was a teenager. She is already well-known to many dancers in the US, having taught at several venues here. She is also twice winner of the Landskappleik, and numberous other dance competitions in Norway.

Karin Code

Karin is returning this year and will be playing a variety of tunes from Valdres and Hallingdal

Toby Weinberg

Toby will provide live music for dance instruction and will of course play tunes from Telemark during the evening parties

Matt Fichtenbaum

This will be Matt's first year with us at Ski Dance Weekend, though he is well known to many of our regulars. Matt will play a couple swedish sets during the dance parties, and will lead Swedish fiddle and Nyckelharpa jams during the day.

Registration Information

Note: There are no remaining bunks at Hulbert available for Thursday night. We have a limited number of bunks available at Hulbert for Friday and Saturday night. Please contact Tom to inquire about availability. We can still accept registrations for those who have alternate lodging available, or for evening dinners and parties.

On or before 12/31/2009 - Full Refund
Between 1/1/2010 & 1/15/2010 - 50%
No refunds will be offered for cancellations after the registration deadline.

* Lodging at the Hulbert Center is limited to four of the six cabins on Thursday night.  Sign up early to ensure you reserve a space for the extra day.  Additional two cabins will be available starting Friday
